Became Samuel Bernard Cohen. Birth date uncertain.
Listed as Samuel A. Cohen serving as MSgt and company quartermaster-bookkeeper in the Union Army. This was during the Civil War and shortly after his arrival in the United States of America. Enlisted as a Corporal in Hebble's Independent Cavalry Company Militia, Pennsylvania on 19 July 1864. Mustered out on 29 October 1864. He and his new wife settled in an abandoned plantation in MO shortly after the Civil War. Died of heart failure. |
