| Personal Notes: |
| Horse dealer in Rauischholzhausen and surrounding area. Head of the Jewish community in Rauischholzhausen until his emigration to the USA in 1937. He negotiated the sale of the synagogue structure to two residents of Rauischholzhausen, whose homes adjoined the synagogue property. One was Herr Wagner, a cabinet maker and the other Andreas Peil. Abraham Spier then led the community until he and his family were deported to Theresienstadt in June 1942. (Reminiscence of Fred Ruelf in July 1997.) |
